What is Business Angel Programme?
The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong’s Business Angel Programme, launched in 2007, was one of the first initiatives of its kind to be launched in Hong Kong by any of the chambers of commerce. Now reaching its 10th year, the programme is well-respected, providing entrepreneurs with valuable advice, a great opportunity to learn more about the start-up community, and most importantly, a pathway to funding.
Since its inception, the Business Angel Committee has reviewed applications from hundreds of enthusiastic Hong Kong entrepreneurs, introducing many of them to a wealth of Angel Investors and Professional Advisors drawn from the membership of the Chamber.
The Business Angel Programme is sponsored by Baker Tilly Hong Kong and is a non-profit initiative.

Our Sponsor
Baker Tilly Hong Kong traces its origins to 1977 when Mr. Malcolm Ian Glass first offered audit and accounting services to clients in Hong Kong under the firm name of Malcolm Glass & Co. With a candid approach and personalised service, this one-man operation would become one of the Territory’s most reputable professional service providers, and a member of Baker Tilly International, one of the top ten largest global network of accountancy and advisory firms.
Today Baker Tilly Hong Kong is very proud to sponsor Hong Kong’s first organised Angel initiative. Being a locally-focused firm from modest beginnings, we fully appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit in Hong Kong and the challenges start-ups face in the present day. As any experienced business leader will attest, mentorship and financing are prerequisites for successful new ventures. Through the Business Angels Programme, SMEs are given an opportunity to secure funding and guidance from experienced entrepreneurs with solid connections.
Together with the British Chamber of Commerce, we invite aspirants, accomplished business professionals and seasoned investors to join in this mission to make a difference to the Hong Kong business community. With a bit of help, and a bit of luck, we can turn a brilliant business idea into a big success.
Committe Members
The Committee of Industry Experts
14 members with expertise from 12 industry sectors.
The business plans and pitches are vetted and shortlisted by our committee prior to the event, ensuring a high quality of finalists are put forth to the Angel Investors. Without the time and effort the committee gives, the programme would not have developed and grown as well as it has since 2007.
